Hey there! I’m Jess, the owner and seamstress behind Sew Lovely Alterations here in downtown Lafayette. I offer formal wear & couture alterations, specializing in bridal, bridesmaids, special occasion, and prom. Safe space for all 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️  

I’ve been sewing since I was a teenager and working in bridal alterations for nearly a decade now. I started Sew Lovely out of my home after leaving my job as the alterations manager at David’s Bridal during COVID. What began as a one-woman side hustle has grown into a full-time business with its own little studio space on Main Street, something I’ve dreamed of for years. 

These days, I spend most of my time fitting bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and suits, plus steaming veils, pinning bustles, and doing all the little things that help my clients feel confident and comfortable on their wedding day.

Sometimes in life you discover something you love later in life than planned. While helping my sister plan her 2015 wedding I discovered a passion for creating beautiful event floral arrangements. I am there for you from the moment you book to help set up your complimentary engagement session, plan your wedding day timeline, and make sure your wedding planning boxes are all checked off. I always try to be one step ahead on your wedding day, anticipating any of your needs with my emergency bridal bag full of anything you might need, helping keep your day running smoothly, even bustling your dress and helping all the men with their boutineers. That means quick turnaround times, always being available for your texts or DMs, sending vendor recs, and yes—staying late on your wedding day without watching the clock.
